PARTNERProfessor Dr Michail Risvas is Assistant Professor of International Law and Arbitration at the University of Southampton, UK. He previously held the same role within IE University Law School in Madrid, Spain. Professor Risvas holds a PhD on international investment treaty arbitration from the University of Oxford, UK and his book on “Discrimination in International Investment Arbitration” is forthcoming with the International Arbitration Series of Oxford University Press. Professor Risvas has published on, and taught, international arbitration at different universities in Europe (University of Oxford, University of Amsterdam, University of Athens) and Latin America (University of Chile, FGV Sao Paolo).
Professor Risvas is a partner at V & R in Athens since 2019. Before 2018 he practiced with an international law firm in Paris for several years (Three Crowns, Freshfields), acting as counsel in investment and commercial arbitrations under the ICSID, UNCITRAL, LCIA, and ICC rules in the banking, defence, gaming, mining and metallurgy sectors. He is included in the list of arbitrators of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) and the Court of Arbitration for Art (CAfA) of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI).
He regularly advises and represents clients on international arbitration matters, European law, and some distinct aspects of international law.
Professor Risvas holds an LL.B. from the University of Athens and an LL.M., M.Phil, PhD from the University of Oxford.

Antonios Vassiloconstandakis is the founder and managing partner of the firm.
Prior to founding the firm, Antonios Vassiloconstandakis acquired diverse experience within top-notch institutions both in Greece and abroad. Among others, he was an associate at a premier US law firm based in Paris (Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton) and legal counsel to the Executive Chairman of one of Greece’s largest companies (FTSE 25).
He focuses on corporate transactions, ranging from catering the day-to-day needs of corporate clients to due diligence exercises, large M&As and cross-border transactions, corporate restructurings, all forms of debt or equity financing as well as on dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on international arbitration and complex civil litigation with international elements.
Industry-wise, he has vast experience working with innovative SMEs or larger companies who focus on disrupting their industries through commercializing their Intellectual Property Rights. He has also dealt extensively with industries in transition which are deeply affected by technological transformation, such as gaming and fintech. Depending on the deal-type, he has worked alongside many types of stakeholders, such as Sellers, Buyers and angel investors.
He often provides solutions to clients in complex regulatory issues they face by representing them before the authorities and key stakeholders and throughout the legislative process.

KONSTANTINOS GONIANAKIS
LITIGATOR – HEAD OF PRIVATE CLIENTS
Konstantinos is a seasoned litigator and practitioner with particular experience in white collar crime. He has represented clients in landmark cases resulting from the financial crisis of the last decade, including all litigations proceedings resulting from the bankruptcy of one of Greece’s largest multinational businesses and the winding-up of one of the most influential television channels.
He acts regularly for our private and corporate clients doing business in Greece in their litigation proceedings and day-to-day needs. He is very active in real estate transactions, where he manages all the due diligence assignments of the firm, and in representing clients before public authorities and tribunals.
DR. GEORGIOS PANITSAS
LEGAL EXPERT – OF COUNSEL
Dr Georgios Panitsas is a seasoned corporate and commercial law practitioner and litigator, who provides legal advice and has acted as a counsel for many Greek and foreign businesses and individuals in many industries. He practices law before Greek Courts of all levels and is qualified to practice law before the Supreme Court of Greece since 2019.
His areas of expertise lie primarily in corporate law, commercial law, civil law, banking law, competition law, insolvency and restructuring proceedings, art law, intellectual property law, insurance law, real estate transactions, litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). He is also active in white collar crime and tax law.
He is a leading expert in the field of insolvency and restructuring law, where he is praised for having concluded several debt restructurings and insolvency proceedings successfully, and often accompanies the firm’s clients in restructuring, or acquisitions of NPL or pools thereof, securitization transactions, .
He has published a monograph and a considerable number of articles, case comments and book chapters covering the areas of corporate, commercial and civil law and is an active member of the Union of Greek Commercial Law Specialists. He has also participated as a speaker in numerous seminars and conferences on corporate and commercial law matters. He is an Accredited Mediator since 2014, specializing in commercial/business mediation. He is a Mediator of the Mediation Center of the Athens Chamber of Crafts and also a Mediator of the Athens Mediation & Arbitration Organization.
He holds an LLB and and LL.M. in Commercial Law (First-class honors – best performance in his year group) from the Law School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (4-year Law Degree) and has successfully completed and defended his Ph.D. in Competition Law (Ph.D. Thesis: “Competition Law in the Insurance Sector” – First-class honors) in the same University. He also holds an M.Sc. in Business for Lawyers from ALBA Graduate Business School (First class honors – best performance in his year group) from the Law School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
VASILIS VASILIOU
CORPORATE & IP LAWYER
Vasilis Vasileiou specializes in corporate law, IP and unfair competition, data protection and pharmaceutical law. He has significant experience in corporate formation and governance matters, financing transactions, recapitalizations and joint venture transactions, as well as in a variety of M&A deals.
He possesses deep insight of intellectual property and unfair competition issues, trademark and patent protection and enforcement, domain names and copyright law, while he provides comprehensive solutions regarding technology protection and licensing and commercialization of intellectual property and technology assets. His litigation practice includes, among others, the handling of high stakes corporate and commercial disputes, including IP-related litigation.
Prior to developing his practice in Greece, Vassilis was with the European Patent Office in Munich. He has also participated as a speaker on corporate, financing and IP issues in numerous workshops for start-up companies.
Mr. Vasiliou holds an LL.B. from the University of Athens and an LLM from Ludwig-Maximillians Universität, Munich – LL.M.Eur in European and International Business Law (Dissertation title: Trademark and Unfair Competition law aspects of the use of internet search engines).
